The cheapest NAS at every spec tier

NAS value table · as of 2026-07-25 · updated continuously

Every cell is the cheapest in-stock NAS that meets both minimums — at least that much RAM and at least that much storage — across 13 brands and 101 models. The cheapest NAS meeting the entry tier is LincPlus LincStation E1 4-Bay NAS at $199.

Tiers are derived from the 101 NAS we track, not from a fixed ladder — which is why this grid's rungs differ from the laptop one. A dash means no in-stock machine meets that combination.

What the next tier costs

How this table is built

Prices are manufacturer-listed, USD, in-stock at last check, for complete systems (no bare-bones kits). RAM and storage are read from each machine's normalized spec sheet; a cell shows the cheapest machine meeting both minimums, so the same machine can win several cells. Configure-to-order systems are listed at their base configuration. The tiers are derived per category from that category's own machines — servers are ranked on the memory sizes servers actually ship with, not on a laptop's ladder — so a row always separates real alternatives instead of repeating one winner.
